<p><p>Project Manager – (full-time)</p>
<p>Westview Projects is a general contracting company operating in Eastern Ontario, headquartered in Ottawa. Westview Projects specializes in offering construction management services to institutional, multi-residential, commercial and retail clients.</p>
<p>Reporting to the Operations Team, the Project Manager disseminates the main contract to the project team members for execution, plans, schedules, organizes and evaluates projects from start-to-finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. The Project Manager oversees and resolves deficiencies, ensuring the team executes successfully and the project is completed satisfactorily.</p>
<h3>Essential Functions/Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Monitor project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, and environment and quality control.</li>
<li>Build and maintain excellent relationships with the project team, trade contractors, architects, consultants and our clients.</li>
<li>Coordinate total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.</li>
<li>Project planning and execution.</li>
<li>Conduct site tours, safety inspections and lead by example to ensure policies, procedures and standards are adhered to.</li>
<li>Ensure comprehensive project close-out.</li>
<li>Manage project meetings.</li>
<li>Mentor, coach, supervise and assess performance of direct reports and team members.</li>
<li>Assist in securing new work by participating in estimates, working with sub-contractors and participating in proposals and presentation.</li>
<li>Lead negotiation of claims and disputes with the owner and sub-trades.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as required.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience</h3>
<ul>
<li>A post-secondary diploma or degree in engineering or construction management.</li>
<li>A minimum of 5+ years progressive construction experience, including leadership and mentoring.</li>
<li>Knowledge of different construction methods, sequencing, problem solving and timelines.</li>
<li>Familiarity with construction project management software programs, Jonas Premier, Plan Grid, Blue Beam.</li>
<li>Knowledge of relevant construction law and building codes.</li>
<li>Ability to troubleshoot problems related to construction, sequencing and staffing.</li>
<li>1-year estimating experience preferred.</li>
<li>Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Ability to understand and employ engineering/construction plans/specifications, methods and procedures.</li>
<li>Effective oral and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to establish a good working relationship with many different people, including owners, other manager, designers, supervisors and tradespeople.</li>
<li>Ability to multi-task and prioritize.</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.</li>
